Orientation session on stress management and self-care in two shelters for victims of human trafficking

On March 26 and April 2, ECPAT Luxembourg and its partner Shakti Samuha organized a three-hour orientation session on stress management and self-care in two shelters for victims of human trafficking managed by the partner. The session was led by a qualified nurse and a psychosocial counsellor. 30 child victims, residents of foster homes, participated in these orientation sessions. The objective of the session was to help children cope with the post-traumatic effects of COVID-19. During these sessions, the facilitator discussed the definition of stress, the different types of stress, its causes and treatment options. Participants discussed the challenges they have faced throughout the pandemic, as well as its impact on their lives and societal changes. In addition, the host insisted on the need to take care of yourself.
